Green Grapevine Guide
to Site Planning and Permaculture
"I live in Albuquerque New Mexico and have been developing the concept of art farming; the culmination of interests in art, science and gardening."

This website focuses on the development, selection and maintainance of a project site.  In this case the goal is to provide information as it becomes necessary during the developmental stages of a permaculture project.

With this in mind I offer this site mostly of links which I have catagorized for quick refrence.  I welcome your feedback, suggestions or submissions. I create my other enviro-friendly products which can be viewed... and ordered! Thank you for watching this site grow!

Survey -Know what you want!  You or your group can use this survey and links page to determine what the potential possibilities and limitations are of your micro-community and research topics related to planning a community using permaculture technology.

Site Planning - is essential to the success of many large endeavors. Information is the key to determining if your vision and the needs of your community or civic group can be executed on a specific site. While the all important issue of group dynamics, is best left to the behavioralists, many of the issues which are necessary to address include those in the fields of psychology. The psychology of a site is critical to achieving the intended response required to function optimally. As well the physical orientation of the site facilitates or inhibits the intended function of the site.  This document reguards Site Planning as being as important to realizing a Permaculture project.

Permaculture -.Bill Mollison - Introduction

"But in fact the process is looping and cyclical. Purpose cannot be precisely stated until site limitations are known. The site cannot be thoroughly analyzed until purposes are set forth."
Site Planning 2nd ed. Kevin Lynch 1971 MIT Press

"Careless disturbances of the landscape is harmful to us; skilled siting enhances us.  Well-organized, productive living space becomes a critical resource for humanity, like energy, air and water."
